Ironclad Tactics is a real-time strategy game combining elements of turn-based strategy with others typical of card games, and even from more dynamic action games.
The combat system in Ironclad Tactics is a bit peculiar. You'll have a grid around which you can deploy and move your units, but you won't have all the time in the world to think of your next move. The clock is ticking, and if you don't make your move quickly, you'll lose your turn.
On each turn players can use one of their cards. These let you deploy a new unit, move an existing one on the grid, or even equip units with new weapons to attack enemies.
One of the strong points of Ironclad Tactics is, without a doubt, its settings and visual style. The game's story happens during the American Civil War, with a touch of steampunk seen in the rudimentary robots you can control. The graphics, for their part, seem taken straight from a comic book, and it fits the game perfectly.
Ironclad Tactics is an entertaining, good-looking, and fun strategy game. Mostly because of its combat system, it's much more enjoyable on tablets or mobiles with large screens.
